Made sure to have two things I rarely have but know I will want simply because I CAN'T have them: a coke and a large order of jack in the box jalapeno poppers. God, I love those things!
Bought a nice amount of raw, healthy snacks today: wheat free flax crackers, lime chili kale chips, and sprouted sunflower seeds are some of my faves and worth turning too when I am feeling deprived.
I have breakfast planned and taken from the recipe index of the bwell4life site, a yummy sounding sun dried tomato, goat feta cheese, red bell pepper frittata I will make in the morning for me and the boys. Thank god I rarely drink coffee anymore. My matcha green tea latte seems to do the trick! Lunch is salad with small amount of balsamic vinegar dressing (if devoid of sugar, gotta check) and lots of no salt turkey on top. Rest of the family will have salmon, brown rice and salad for dinner as I loathe seafood, serious aversion affliction! I will be making bwell chili and give that to the boys for lunch on Tuesday after I buy them some good quality thermoses. Their lunches tomorrow will be nitrate free turkey sausages with ketchup, some seaweed, a pluot and a few ginger cookies. Sounds kinda gross doesn't it? May have to rethink that one. As a side note, I cannot believe how much healthier my older son has been since I have increased his protein intake and he is willing to do regular exercise, swimming three times a week. He is more alert, happier and energetic than he has been in years! He's a good role model for me.
The famous musician next door gave me a bag of pistachios that a fan sends him from Iran and last time I made the most amazing pistachio ice cream, using matcha green tea for the coloring. It was so good we ate it all that time so now amidst the detox, I am committed to making some more and giving most of it to them and saving a little for my family for tomorrow night's dessert (not for me of course, I plan to strictly adhere to the NO SUGAR of any kind rule for the entire detox). Hope it won't be too much of a temptation. I think it is better to get it out of the way at the beginning. Still doing squats and crunches, summer 2011 here I come!!
